COVID-19 Initiatives

Billy exists to support older Australians with their independence. We are working extra hard to find ways to do that more effectively in these challenging times.

There are many things we can do across our business to be supportive, and we feel certain that new opportunities to be supportive will reveal themselves each day in the weeks and months ahead. Rather than announce a point-in-time response, the Billy team is starting each day with the question; ‘what more can we do to help?’.

We are using a series of principles to guide us through this period, the first of which is a commitment to transparency. We have set up this page to keep you up to speed on the initiatives we are rolling out to support our customers and the community, through this time.

Initiative #6 - Touching base with our customers

Starting today, we are proactively calling our customers to check in to see how they are feeling with all the changes to daily life in the wake of COVID-19. We would love to hear your thoughts and feelings on these changes, and how Billy can help during this time.

Initiative #5 - Increased capacity and extended hours for phone consultations

We believe our team has a unique perspective on Aged Care system and while we don’t have all the answers, our customers tell us that talking with someone about your situation can help. We have extended the availability of consultations through to 8pm, seven days a week. These consultations don’t need to be about Billy specifically; we are happy to listen and share our thoughts on whatever you need to chat about. You can book an appointment by clicking here.

Initiative #4 - Extended Customer Support Hours

We have extended our hours of customer support by 2 hours.  Our new hours are 8am – 6pm AEST Monday – Friday. If at any time you don’t get through, please leave us a message, and we will return your call as soon as possible.

Initiative #3 - No contracts for Aged Care providers

For all Aged Care providers in Australia, we will provide Billy kits at-cost and with no monthly fees for the coming months, and with no obligation to continue. Now is not the time to be stuck figuring out business plans or workflows, it’s about putting a tool in place to enable better remote care delivery.

Initiative #2 - Billy kits for vulnerable seniors

It is more important than ever that anyone who needs Billy has access to it.  If you or your family member is interested in Billy, but are unable to cover the costs, please contact us to discuss options. We’ll do everything we can to get a Billy kit in your hands in a way that is affordable for you.

Initiative #1 - Billy team working from home

Many of the jobs at Billy can be done remotely.  To play our part in flattening the curve, we made an early call to work from home. Our team has been leaning heavily on the great advice out there on working effectively as a remote team.
